Passengers on a commercial flight capture the launch of Artemis II. Nasa’s moon rocket Artemis II launched on Wednesday evening, carrying astronauts to the moon for the first time in almost 54 years. The rocket is now orbiting Earth and will continue to do so until Thursday, when the translunar injection burn will take place and send it on the rest of its 240,000-mile journey to the moon. Inside the Orion capsule, the four astronauts onboard immediately began tasks to assess how the spacecraft handled the 17,500mph ascent to orbit.

@NGo247 As we can't see any quality issue with the flowers, we wouldn't look to refund or replace. The website says 'Products will arrive in bud, or with fewer open flowers than pictured'. We wouldn't anticipate any issues with these but if there are we're here to help - Amelia

@marksandspencer Hi, these flowers were delivered today and the description states 'in bud' yet these are clearly in bloom! Also, what's the point in filling in a message for the note, if you don't bother delivering it with the flowers?

In South Africa, a driver gets boxed in by suspected car hijackers. Instead of freezing or ramming forward, he instantly slams it into reverse and floors it, a masterclass in defensive driving that saved his life.

@Ocado Why do the drivers need to park so close to our car and walkway. There's an area to the right hand side which is adequate for parking but they are so lazy that they need to be as close as possible to the neighbour's property! #ocado #ocadodriver #ocadodelivery

NTSB: The midnight shift was operating under standard operating procedures at the time of the accident. There were two people in the tower cab, the local controller and the controller in charge. The local controller signed on at 22:45 local time. The controller in charge clocked in at 22:30. It is not clear who was conducting the duties of the ground controller, and there is conflicting information, the NTSB said. NTSB chair Homendy also mentions the truck that had requested to cross the runway. "We do know there were other vehicles behind truck 1 that did not cross the runway." She says truck 1 did not have a transponder. The final 10 seconds of the CVR: 10 seconds - An electronic "10" call out was heard 9 seconds - The tower instructed truck one to stop 8 seconds - A sound consistent with the aircraft's landing gear touching down on the runway 6 seconds - Pilot transfer of controls from one pilot to the other 4 seconds - Tower again instructs the truck to stop moving 0 seconds - Recording ends NTSB chair Homendy says the ASDE-X, a surveillance system at the airport using radar and other technology, did not generate an alert due to the close proximity of vehicles merging on the runway. She adds that runway status lights were functioning as normal. youtube.com/watch?v=SxDklY…

An Alaska Airlines 737 and a FedEx 777 nearly collided as they attempted to land on intersecting runways at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, according to radar data. The incident happened around 8:17 p.m. Tuesday as the Alaska flight arrived from Portland, Oregon, and the FedEx plane arrived from Memphis, Tennessee. Air traffic control told the Alaska plane to go around seconds before it touched down while the plane was just 150 feet in the air, according to air traffic control audio. Meanwhile, the FedEx plane continued its landing on the intersecting runway. Preliminary data from Flightradar24 shows the Alaska plane cleared the FedEx plane by just 300 to 325 feet. The Federal Aviation Administration said, "An air traffic controller instructed Alaska Airlines Flight 294 to perform a go-around at Newark International Airport because FedEx Flight 721 was cleared for the final approach to an intersecting runway. The FAA is investigating."

@MummyisT There are a lot of awful things going on in the world but your world is important...you're allowed to grieve your furbaby's passing 🌈 irrespective of what others may think. We lost our furbaby 6 weeks ago and we're still raw. Grieve as much as you need, you don't need permission
