NJDOC staff joined local first responders for a Heroes and Helpers event in Edison. Officers and supervisors spent the evening escorting families through the store and helping select gifts. Many of these same staff also mentor recruits and support academy training. #NJDOC #Honor

A local hospital’s pediatric unit received donated toys through a drive organized by staff at South Woods State Prison. It came together because people across the facility pitched in and made it happen. The effort reflects the care staff bring to their work and to others.

Over his twenty five year career, Jamil Howard guided #NJDOC food service with a steady hand and a generous spirit. Inside the kitchen he trained incarcerated individuals in cooking, food safety, teamwork, and discipline. His lessons reached beyond the line.

Senior Correctional Police Officer Candis White of NJDOC’s Central Medical Unit joined agencies from across the region for Somerset County’s CAP Shop With a Hero, helping local children experience a day of connection, kindness, and support.

The NJDOC was honored to stand with the Virginia Department of Corrections at the memorial procession for Corrections Officer Jeremy Lewis Hall. Our team joined partner agencies in paying respect to his service and supporting the VADOC community during this difficult time.
