@BaristerV @NduatiRay I think Buju Banton is calling out a trend in the whole industry. It's a feature in reggea music to talk about the struggle black populations have faced for liberation. Afrobeat has other features, but liberation is not one.

So Buju Banton says Afro beats has not helped with liberations and revolutions in Africa in the least possible way. Claims Reggae helped more in liberation. With the current ongoing protests in #NaneNane2024 in Kenya and #nigeriaprotest2024, do you think this is true?

@NduatiRay In reggea music there exists art that talks about the struggle that the aforementioned countries are going through. In Afrobeat, there is art whose message touches not on the struggle for liberation.

@NduatiRay Das sehen wir anders. Die Zahlen sprechen eine andere Sprache: Immer mehr junge Menschen werden Landwirt/in! 21 Prozent mehr haben im Jahr 2022/23 einen Ausbildungsvertrag zum #Landwirt abgeschlossen. Ganz besonders erfreulich: Auch der Anteil der Frauen wächst weiter.

5 years ago, I was in Njoro, a village in Kenya's Rift Valley doing a story on how young #Kenyans are delving into smart farming. 2 weeks ago, I was at Züllighöven, a village in Western Germany, where I met Dorothy Hochgürtel who says young #Germans are staying away from farms

@KipJustin How about those studying Agriculture in school at Egerton University, Jkuat etc? Are they pushed too?

@NduatiRay Kenyans are pushed to agriculture by unemployment. Most young farmers are unemployed youth who chose to farm instead of waiting for formal employment.
