@VivaDaBears Not true at all. Crosby’s contract could be restructured to be less than an $8 mil cap hit for 2026. Bears can also restructure 3 other contracts to free up $20 + mil in cap. Plenty of flexibility.
#Bears are out of the Crosby lottery. They are almost up against the cap, and made moves in the last 3 days and committed $$. It would be very hard to unwind and find the money. He'll probably stay a Raider for 2026.
@briand1a@Peter_Bukowski A Crosby restructure gets him down to a $ 7 mil cap hit. There are also 3 other current players they can restructure. They can make it work.
@AdamSchefter What are the Bears going to do with their team now?? Even if Crosby came in, the team is worse with no #1 wr, no starting Center, Saftey or MLB? If I’m Crosby pump the brakes because right now the Bears are much worse than a week ago.
Bears are releasing former Pro-Bowl LB Tremaine Edmunds, per sources. Edmunds has been a full-time starter in each of his eight NFL seasons, and he now will become a free agent with 900 tackles on his resume.
@action4life@_NickWhalen That’s because most rookie QB’s come into teams in a full on rebuild, years out from contention. Unique scenario and opportunity for Chicago the next 2 years.
@_NickWhalen Correct and history shows the "rookie QB contract window" thing is just a myth as only Mahomes (1st ring) and Russ in Seattle have won the last 20 years on rookie deals.
The Chicago Bears are not a Win Now team.
They are a contending team.
Win Now means a short window. Chicago has a large contending window if Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson continue to build off of 2025.
I’ll be honest, if the Bears get Maxx Crosby, I will not be a happy Packers fan. Especially with the current state of the GB OL. My only hope is that they overpay. #gopackgo
@Angrymike23@god69_a@mikemagee1982 DJ had a handful of massive plays in 2025, but overall wasn’t a huge contributor to their success. He was way underutilized.
@mikemagee1982@Angrymike23 Crosby wouldn’t be 1 on 1 vs tom. He gets majority of his sacks stunting to the inside. However he’s in his age 29 season and an overpay for 1-2 years of prime would be a good thing. The bears aren’t “1 player away” this season.
Caleb Williams with a sub 60% completion percentage in 13 of his 19 games this season. It’s not about sporadic highlights. It’s about the full body of work.

Don’t let Matt Lafleur having the worst 2nd half coaching performance of the century distract you from the fact that Kyler Gordon had one of the worst games I ever seen
The Bears are a one and done team in the playoffs with this defense. Period. I don't care how good their offense is. You cannot win games when the defense is allowing teams to drive down the field on you with ease.
The Bears biggest wild card for how far they can go in playoffs: Kyler Gordon. He is their best defensive player. The way he plays the run, blitzes and covers is game changing and makes everyone better. With him on the field the defense is closer to average which u can win with
