PlayStation has reported a 765 Million dollar impairment loss due to underperformance by Bungie.

Sony reports $765 million impairment loss due to underperformance of Marathon developer Bungie in FY25 ➡️ ign.com/articles/sony-… #PS5 #Bungie #PlayStation

#PlayStation FY25 Q4 results. From Jan to March 31 2025. Revenue - $6.8bn (-3%) ❌ Operating Income - $360m (-41%) ❌ OI sans Bungie IL - $948m (+54%) ✅ PS5 Hardware - 1.5m (-46%) ❌ Network Services (+21%) ✅ Game Software - $4.2bn (-2%) ❌ Full game units - 74.6m (+1.4%) ✅ Monthly Active Users - 125m (+1%) ✅ Lifetime total of #PS5 is 93.7m. Playstation is starting to see notable hardware decline typical of the later stages of a console life cycle, and with it overall revenue decline. Operating income is also down heavily, but only because PlayStation issued impairment losses of ¥88.6bn ($588m) "against Bungie's intangible and other assets". If it weren't for that, profit would be up a huge amount. Network services also see's strong growth, while MAU and full game software are up, but near flat. Again, I can only wonder if GTA6, Wolverine, Intergalactic etc can reverse typical late cycle declines, especially with the insanely high console prices. USD to Yen currency exchange was based on the average Sony themselves provided, per the financial report.

Dear Appraisers, Thank you for the feedback. It matters to us. Neverness to Everness is built on human creativity.
