@greenlantern312 @nimoompkh @firiiiip Eritrea is Christian and they also practice it at a rate of over 90%. Its also common among the Maasai of Kenya who are neither Muslim nor Christian. Its more of an ancient cultural practice that dates back to the time of the Ancient Egyptians.

@Naimaintaipei I agree many Somalis have jareer hair but Artan is not jareer ethnicity wise. The word two meanings. Its both a descriptive term to describe a hair texture common to all Somalis as well as the name of an ethnic group. You can have jareer hair and not be jareer ethnically.

@tech_empire1 @firiiiip The genetic data is pretty clear on this. Somalis have around 60% Ancient East African DNA similar to Nilotic populations like the Dinka and around 40% Eurasian DNA similar to West Asian and North African populations. A 60/40 split between African and Eurasian DNA is mixed.

@ArabHorner Then focus on lineage. Don't mention race. Because race is about all of your genes. The Maasai are about 50% Cushitic (mostly from Somali males) and 50% Nilotic genetically. Nobody says they are Somali simply because they got a majority of their DNA from Somali males.

@Nificent86 Doesn’t matter much. 1) Lineage matters for Arabs. It can determine your name, language, culture etc. 2) On top of lineage, Somalis are still 60-70% Arabian to this day (30-40% African). 3) If African men got conquered, those women got assimilated to Arabian Somali culture🗣️

@CordedKemite Ramses died at over 90 years old. If you anything about the aging process you know nobody looks the same at 90 as they did in their 20s. With black people especially when they age their hair loses its curl pattern similar to how as children it can look straight.
