Watching the World Cup has me asking questions. Do Europeans get issued 8 weeks of vacation, unlimited airline miles, and a trust fund at birth? Because every match I turn on there are 40,000 fans following their team to a different state or country on a Tuesday afternoon while Americans are hiding in a work bathroom checking scores.

Today Hanoi started construction on FIVE new metro lines. Lines 1, 2, 8, 10 (Ring) and 14 have broken ground today, totalling over 300 km of new metro. A Vinhomes-Vinspeed consortium will be EPC general contractor for these lines. The lines all scheduled to be open by 2030. This marks a shift in Hanoi's metro development strategy from developing individual lines one by one to building a large-scale, integrated public transport network at once. The EPC consortium collaborated with consulting firms from Europe, Japan, S Korea and China to develop detailed designs for these metro lines.
