I'd say I'm happy with my panels on Twitch! Still gonna tweak them here ad there. Go give'em a look and tell me what you think!! twitch.tv/novakstreams/a…
I'm grateful to @rachelartistry on ko-fi.com/X8X4AO6OU.

@EggieWeggieVT I keep my eyes out those advice videos. I'm just starting off myself, not sure if it's something I even will be good at so I'm starting small and simple. I've already gotten some help from good people, and I'm always glad when I see other tubers helping newcomers like me. :3

I've been sent this by a few people and I know a lot of people have watched my advice shorts (Which I'm coming back to I promise I just had a lil life hiccup haha) but I felt the need to at least give my perspective as someone who shifted AWAY from the 'ara ara' sexualized anime girl meta they are kinda talking about.
I. Reaching External Communities
Fundamentally, I don't think this is wrong and is generally good advice if you have a good idea what your niche is, which tbf a lot of people don't!
II. Oversaturation
A. I think they had it in the first half and lost me in the second. While Vtubing has ABSOLUTELY become more accessible in recent years, that doesn't make the number of viewers suddenly go down. Someone being a vtuber doesn't make them not count as a vtuber?? I've always thought that was such a weird take that other streamers weren't counted in your community the same way. Also just cuz someone watches one of the homies doesn't mean they can't watch me as well?? and we cant both watch someone else? weird argument.
B. To this I say.... so what?? Not everyone is min maxing their way through life. Not everything has to be a means of optimal production. I talk about growth a LOT on this account and on my channel in general, but tbh, that advice is only there IF you want it. It is absolutely fine to be a hobby streamer and just press go live to your 10 friends or your community of 200. You do you homie. You don't owe anyone shit.
III. Limited Pool of Viewers
This logic is flawed for a view reasons, imo
1. where is this data coming from? I'd love to see the numbers because this seems hard to track considering that multistreaming is the norm nowadays as is long and short form content as a medium for monetization and growth.
2. This also doesn't take into account the people who don't consider themselves 'ENVtuber Watchers' TM. There are a TON of people in my community who don't watch ANY other vtubers but me because they just happen to vibe with my content and those people likely wouldn't appear in that kind of data. I would argue the casual watcher is most of the Twitch audience at the very least.
but yeah, that's my two cents!! ;w; overall I don't think it was badly intentioned, I get where they were coming from, but it's not a competition!! The more the industry grows, the more opportunities for all of us <3
Vtuber Consulting@VtuberConsult
"VTubing is growing" No, not really. In fact, viewers per VTuber is probably going down given how many new VTubers have been popping up recently. Just copying what worked before doesn't work now. To grow, you can't rely primarily on exposure within the community anymore.
