Today we recognize the many people around the world who are living with diabetes, and the Naturopathic Doctors that play a critical role in helping their patients prevent and manage this condition.

Congratulations to Dr. Tara Rawana, ND - winner of our Emerging Leader award! With a focus on mental health, she is also a co-founder of All About Mental Empowerment, which delivers action-based workshops to youth. She truly meets the definition of an emerging leader!

The first ever winner of our Excellence in Naturopathic Medicine awards needs no introduction - Dr. Cyndi Gilbert, ND (inactive) is a friend and mentor to many, and a truly deserving recipient!

What a start to OANDCon! This morning we have heard our Chair's welcome, a session on core naturopathic treatments, an advocacy update and a panel on unconscious bias and equity - and we are just getting started!

As we wrap up #SmallBusinessMonth, we acknowledge the many NDs who not only provide their patients with high quality care, but are responsible for marketing, finance, staffing and all the other aspects that make a small business work. Kudos to you!

Today marks World Mental Health Day. Working with a naturopathic doctor is an effective way to support whole person health, including your mental health.

It's World Breastfeeding Week. Ontario NDs can help support mothers and families as they journey through the challenges and joys of pregnancy and postpartum.

Today communities across the country are marking National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by reflecting on the long shadow of colonization and its impact. OAND staff are attending events in their home communities to deepen their understanding of reconciliation.

For the next week, proceeds from our Decolonizing Medicine continuing education course will be donated to organizations working towards reconciliation. Access the course here: oand.mclms.net/en/package/912…

On Monday September 30th the OAND office will be closed to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Staff will be participating in events in their local communities to deepen their understanding of reconciliation.
