Comp update: Kirk Cousins will sign a five-year, $172 million deal with the Raiders that in reality is a one-year, fully-guaranteed $20 million deal that also contains a club option for two years at $80M. The Falcons will pay Cousins $8.7 million this season, the Raiders another $1.3 million and Las Vegas also agreed to pay its new QB a fully-guaranteed $10 million roster bonus on the third day of the 2027 new league year. And maybe most notably, it also sets another new mark: this will be the 11th straight NFL season in which Cousins’ contract will be fully guaranteed.

🏈 By Competition Committee; to permit the kicking team to declare an onside kick at any time during the game.
🏈 By Competition Committee; to eliminate the kicking team’s incentive to intentionally kick the ball out of bounds when kicking off from the 50-yard line.
🏈 By Competition Committee; to modify the kickoff alignment requirements for the receiving team players in the setup zone.
🏈 By Competition Committee; for one year only, to allow the NFL Officiating Department to correct clear and obvious misses made by on-field officials that impact the game, in
the event that there is a work stoppage involving the game officials represented by the NFL Referees Association.

NFL owners have approved an expansion of behaviorial and mental health services -- teams much now have a full-time mental health clinician at the facility. The original program mandating a part-time clinician began in 2019.
