Still working her way back from an early season injury, Ani Allen took another great step forward by finishing third in the girls’ 1600m at the Mike Wallace Invitational! 🥉

In a fantastic race that was decided by .05, Luke Swearengin was the boys’ 1600m runner-up last night at the Mike Wallace Invitational with a new PR of 4:20! 🥈

Congratulations to Ani Allen for her commitment to run at the University of Maine! 💙🩵 Ani is a 3x All-State cross country runner and finished as 6A runner-up this fall. She is going to do BIG things for the Black Bears of @MaineTF and @MaineXC over the next four years!🐻

A HUGE shoutout to Luke Swearengin on his commitment to Pitt State! ❤️💛 This young man has worked incredibly hard to become one of the best runners in the entire state of Kansas! @GorillasTrack is getting a fantastic athlete and an even better human being. #GoRillas 🦍👟

What an AWESOME experience this morning attending the NCAA Division I Cross Country National Championships in Columbia, MO! Going to the NCAA meet has always been on my bucket list and I’m so happy I got to share the experience with son Elijah and my good buddy @CoachWrigley.

Luke Swearengin is your 6A boys’ runner-up! 🥈 He may be disappointed in the result but we are beyond proud of the heart and guts he showed today. He broke the race wide open with a huge move after the first mile and left it all on the course. You inspired us this season, Luke!

Ani Allen is your 6A girls’ runner-up!🥈 She closes out her high school cross country career in fashion, running her best race of the entire season! This is Ani’s third All-State medal in XC: ➖14th as a SO ➖4th as a JR ➖2nd as a SR Thank you for the amazing four years Ani!
