I think the fall off will be debated, but I don't think either of them will really be classics.
A classic IMO has to have 3 things
Influence - More mainstream artists later on have to be inspired and build onto what the album initially was
Universal Praise - Has to be universally agreed upon that it's a classic and an incredible project
Longevity - Needs to be able to be played and enjoyed a decade after it dropped, and still be very popular.
top 25 albums that I've rated on AOTY (my opinion)
Currently have 79 albums rated, so there are a lot of albums that would probably be here that I haven't relistened to yet
Anthony Fantano calls himself "the most relevant and impactful music critic” in response to Halsey (via Variety):
“I don’t have to prove my track record to Halsey. I have been the most relevant and impactful music critic of my — and any — generation for over 10 years now. You can’t really debate that. There’s no music critic bigger than me who’s had more impact than me for as long as I have, consistently. And if I die tomorrow, nobody’s going to outdo that run.”

@Sw4ggalici0usTV@SimplyWomanMag@PopBase I don’t like fantano, but too many people deny reality for their favorite artists, it is very weird to me to see that
@SimplyWomanMag@OVO_BERE@PopBase The fact that a Drake fan said that about Fantano is really indicative of his relevance and impact. Fantano and Drake fans do not get along.
The solution to this is for everyone to stop arguing with each other over music opinions.
Someone tells me “I don’t like Drake” I ask them if they like R&B or Rap, and depending on their response, I reccomend them a song or 2 from drakes discog.
If they still don’t like it, thats their opinion, doesn’t mean I have to agree with it.
@dontfwmeok We live in a world where individualism is called performative and fitting in is self slavery. No one wins until everyone stops caring about how they’re perceived.
@cactiwashere incredibly based way of ranking
Music rankings should be done like this, based on how much you yourself enjoy the music.
Tired of people saying “oh this is the best so it has to be in my ranking, even tho i dont listen to it”
@DreamChildKoLo@dontfwmeok Why do you think this?
Streams don’t matter when evaluating quality, as for the industry plant allegation, what does being boosted by big industry names have to do with quality music?
What about his music do you actually dislike
@fuckenflowers@PopBase He's been reviewing music since the late 2000s, he's always been a somewhat big name in music and particular hiphop circles.
He sometimes has controversial takes, but usually he has well thought out reasons for them, although I usually disagree anyways lol
