Moonbound!
A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to 1988 Springboro High School Graduate And Class Valedictorian Bradley Files!
Brad currently serves as Chief, Program Health and Performance Office (PHPO) Chief for NASA, and heads a team of engineers and scientists who lead the health and medical aspects of all human spaceflight programs.
About 90 minutes ago, The Artemis II mission lifted off from NASA's Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex 39B. Artemis II will pave the way for future Moon landings, as well as the next giant leap — astronauts on Mars.
A few comments from Bad earlier this evening:
"We had a big watch party here in Houston. This is a big moment for NASA, headed toward the moon for the first time since I was a toddler.
With recent updates to NASA’s plans, we hope to see more launches for Artemis in the next couple of years.
We have been working on this hardware for years, and we are proud to see it finally fly with people on board.
Keep an eye out for more launches in the next two years. It should be exciting.
Now let’s all hope that this crew gets home safely. We are working on lunar landers and starting to work on a moon base that was recently announced."
