@OlgaraPixels @mayonakasoda Lovebites are the band that first sparked my interest in Japanese metal (check out Glory To The World and When Destinies Align, the first two videos I saw). Whilst there are a great many superb bands, these remain my favourite.

@Black_D_Gamer1 Man I miss cartoons like Batman Beyond. Plenty mature and dark without pointless swearing or other modern writing pitfalls.

Western cartoon stans claim that they want animation to be considered cinema, but cannot fathom having that same medium showcase mature & dark subject matter, that challenges their beliefs, or take them out of their comfort zone. No wonder they only like little kids cartoons?

Why in god’s name do men hate us so much? That’s what I don’t understand. It’s not feminism - women were beaten and raped long before any of us dreamed of having legal rights or equality, and women are beaten and raped and hated even more frequently in countries where feminism doesn’t exist. What really blows my mind is that the worst misogynists in Western society are the liberal men we all thought supported the idea of equality for women. I’ll admit it — I didn’t see that one coming, but once I did, it was quite the eye opener. Liberal men have spent the last fifty years twisting the idea of women’s liberation into something that benefits them. The sexual revolution, rather than setting women free, has served mainly to make men feel even more entitled to women’s bodies than they did before. Instead of waiting until marriage, or even until the relationship is serious, men now expect sex within the first few dates, especially if they spend money. Sex has become transactional — and women aren’t the ones who benefit from that. Worse, however, has been the normalization of increasingly violent pornography. The covers of detective magazines helped to inspire serial killers for two generations; what, then, is today’s pornography inspiring, with its constant theme of women being “destroyed” by the almighty phallus? What are men being conditioned to enjoy, with videos of women getting slapped and choked and spit on? What does it tell boys about sex when video after video shows them men getting off on hurting and degrading women? When pornography frames sex as an act of destruction? We already know that choking - which can and sometimes does kill with shocking ease - has been so normalized that it’s now an expected part of sex for young adults; young men don’t even bother to ask for consent much of the time. And that’s what it’s done to psychologically normal men. Now think about what it can do to a man who already has a warped view of women, who sees porn actresses being degraded and thinks that means women like degradation. That’s a dangerous way for a man to think, especially if he also resents them for not wanting to sleep with him. Say what you will about social conservatives; at least the majority of them aren’t gaslighting women into thinking that pornography and promiscuity are liberating.

@TRPG_koharu My current group has two parties within the same setting. An A-Party that's normal and more competent, and a B-Party consisting of the dumbest most dysfunctional characters. The B-Party has caused wide-spread, irreversible damage to the setting through their antics.
