#WATCH | Dhaka, Bangladesh: On Bangladesh General Election Results 2026, Rohana Hettiarachchi, Executive Director of People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL), "Our overall assessment is that this is a historic and landmark election in Bangladesh, given the recent past elections and how they were, and the inclusivity we are talking about in those elections... We acknowledge that there should be a transitional justice and reconciliation process ahead of the future elections. Politicians and political parties willing to take part in elections should have the opportunity to do so. I think it's one of the key responsibilities of the new government to begin the reconciliation process and establish a transitional justice mechanism to engage them in the Bangladesh elections. We need to highlight, or we need to appreciate, the election management body in Bangladesh’s recent election history. They have done a remarkable job. I think the election was peaceful, comparatively peaceful and orderly, and also, to a certain extent, inclusive, and the credit balance."
