Brock Lesnar was over from day one. Oba Femi is not. He will become just another talent on the roster, if he hasn't already. The fake accent is going to hurt him as well.

Benoit is remembered far worse than Hogan. Not even comparable.
JBLCENAFAN2@MHeuneman

@davemeltzerWON it's wild how many people hate Hogan and cheer for his pain and death because of things he's said. However most of them say Beniot for HOF based on the wrestler not the person.

Nobody is holding it against anyone. It's the myth that everyone in the world knew the guy in the 80s which is nowhere near accurate. Even today, there are many place where there is almost no pro wrestling knowledge whatsoever by the public. It's like saying Bruno was known worldwide and me pointing out that wasn't the case, and arguing that if Vince's father got TV all over the world he would be. That penetration is the key to everything.

Not in primes. In the U.S., Canada, Europe, Japan and a few other countries for sure. WWF only had penetration in Europe, US, Canada, Japan and Australia/New Zealand in the 80s. It got much bigger since Hogans prime. Even in Mexico, Hogan was not known (Ernesto Ocampo has brought that up this week). Hogan was very well known in Japan in his prime for New Japan, not WWF.
Richard Dowle@RichD_00

@davemeltzerWON Hogan was more globally recognisable in his prime than Cena. Go to any developed country in the world and ask them to name five wrestlers throughout history, Hogan will tally highest. Rock’s unparalleled fame is through movies. Hogan’s cultural icon status is through wrestling.

Roman Reigns made the WHC the main title in 1 week. He made Jacob Fatu relevant again in 1 week. He made Raw AND Smackdown watchable again. No current wrestler will ever reach this level of stardom again. Roman Reigns is the last of a dead breed.

@davemeltzerWON You absolutely will. Bruno hasn't been lost, Hogan won't go away. Do a poll, go into different cities around the world and ask people who on your important list of people in pro-wrestling they know. Hogan will win hands downs. That's importance.

Yep, that's why he's ranked so highly and I'd put him ahead of Sammartino even though Sammartino drew far more in New York.
Vintage Classic Mags@PDale44

@davemeltzerWON this is true but Dave were talking on a world wide scale not just NY, my immigrant parents were fans of Hogan , hell there parents knew of Hogan half way across the world , Hogan expanded wrestling to places we probably never heard of all we are saying .

Hogan's MSG drawing record was FAR behind Bruno Sammartino, Pedro Morales or Bob Backlund, and I think Rocca and Billy Graham but I'd have to go back and look. Billy's record is spectacular. When Billy & Bruno died I listed both of their records at MSG in articles on their deaths.
Chris Todd@ChrisTodd420

@davemeltzerWON Hogan gave Vince sellouts at MSG time after time by himself. You forget that? Hogan sold out MSG, Vince was along for the sellouts.....big difference. How many Andre the Giant shirts did Vince Sr.orJr. sell? Few, Hogan was the moneymaker. Hogan left, so did the sellouts at MSG.

Kairi Sane’s release feels less like business and more like personal. ✅ WWE invested months into the emotional Asuka bullying storyline. ✅ Fans were fully invested, waiting for Kairi's epic revenge and ultimate payoff. ✅ Instead, after a brutal RAW segment, they just pull the plug and fire her? ✅ Complete disrespect to the Sky Pirate. She deserved a much better ending! 🏴‍☠️

@davemeltzerWON but Dave tell me this didnt Vince basically put all his stock into WM1 and if it failed he would have never recovered , he took a major gamble and with mostly the help of Hogan he succeeded.
