Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor showed a clip in her post-match interview, claiming Katie McCabe should have been sent off for a hair pull on Alyssa Thompson. Sonia herself was shown a red card during the game for dissent after reacting towards the referee for not stopping play.

This is just another repeat of Chelsea vs Barcelona — but this time in the women’s game. Two wrongly disallowed goals in the first leg, and no red card for a blatant hair pull in the second leg. These referees should never be allowed to officiate a football match again. Not even an apology. Do they actually believe they got it right? It’s a complete disgrace to the game, especially with VAR available. Instead of using it properly, they somehow managed to misuse it at every critical moment.
