Can someone from @ExeterCouncil explain to me how this thing can get through the cones at the end of Buddle Lane but a bin lorry cannot? Our bins have been outside for a week now, the black bins will be out there too later.

English

@RapidDevon @wenea_es @DevonCC @ExeterCouncil This is far better, thank you. I still don't understand the touch screen being on, but the lack of glowy pointless lights is good. No one can see those light from the road, just pedestrians and local residents. No doubt your customers (4 empty spaces out there) will have an app?

English

@PJSPhotography @wenea_es @DevonCC @ExeterCouncil We want our customers to know that these residential chargers are available but want to minimise the impact on residents. We apologise for any inconvenience.
English

So @RapidDevon @wenea_es still have glowing lights 24/7 outside my home. Cables still a trip hazard. @DevonCC @ExeterCouncil #ecofriendly

English

@RapidDevon @wenea_es @DevonCC @ExeterCouncil Thank you. Though I really don't understand why they need lights running 24/7 using energy like that, even if dimmed? You can't see the glowy lights from the road.
English

@PJSPhotography @wenea_es @DevonCC @ExeterCouncil Thanks for your message. We will switch off the light as a temporary solution. Moving forward, we are working with our charger manufacturers to enable a software update that dims the light to a socially acceptable level.
English

@darrendotcom I know, they are awful ! Saw some yesterday which looked to be a similar size to a bollard. Much smaller, no silly glowy lights.
English

This is very bad design. The Tesla chargers are much better with no blaring lights and with their cables integrated into the body.

@RapidDevon Would be nice to understand why they have to glow 24 hours, 7 days a week ? The light is of no benefit to anyone ! @DevonCC @ExeterCouncil

@DevonCC Apart from the part of Clovelly you are showing which you can drive a car too 😁
English

@RapidDevon Looking into it ? It's glowing blue now, have to make sure my curtains are properly closed else there is a glow around the edges which probably should not be there in the first place.

@VModifiedMind @darrendotcom They never used when still in business.
English

@PJSPhotography @darrendotcom And of course the “car club” went into administration so there won’t be anyone having that space in use anymore.
English

You’ve got a point. I’m all for improving charging infrastructure, but this is a bit crap and the design is awful.

Please can someone explain to me why these charging monoliths have to glow 24 hours a day, 7 days a week outside of my home? I don't get it! @RapidDevon @DevonCC @ExeterCouncil and why green, is this some sort of eco thing? Also, those cables are tripping hazards!
English

@darrendotcom Bad design - yes. However it's the users that are leaving the cables trailing. I often move them out of the way.

@darrendotcom Thank you for the RT's Darren ! I've lost touch with Twitter for a while, it's all adverts for nonsense
