Two amazing women. Two great Canadians. Both had their lives cut short by cancer. Sandra in 2000, Colleen in 2025. I feel privileged to have covered both in their curling careers. I wrote books about both of them. They were champions on and off the ice.

@cbccolleenjones God bless your mother. I enjoyed helping her to write her autobiography and following her career in curling and broadcasting. She was a pioneer in so many ways. I loved her spirit and the way she approached things. I know family meant the world to her. She was a champion.

I am shocked & saddened by the passing of #ColleenJones, who has died of #cancer at age 65. I helped her to write her autobiography. She was such a pro in the process. She was a pioneer in #curling & #broadcasting, doing things ahead of her time. My heart goes out to her family.

@astaniewski @PeterDyakowski In most leagues, franchise values raise because there are so few of them and few for sale. CFL teams don't rise. In fact, they are a losing proposition. But here's an interesting thought. Ambrosie brought in new owners in Mtl, B.C. and Edmonton and got the heave-ho.

@PeterDyakowski One thing people are missing is that most sports owners do not purchase a sports team to make money. If they wanted to own a business whose priority was to make money they would stay away from sports teams. Most have other reasons such as the enjoyment and cache of owninga team

Funny thing, the only 2 out of 9 CFL teams who must annually publish audited financial statements consistently show substantial profits. Should we so credulously accept the Commissioner's claim about the other 7, conveniently those who aren't required to publish statements?

@HerbZurkowsky1 Remember Matt Dunigan played one Grey Cup with a separated shoulder. To paraphrase Shane Bieber's "it's the World Series" comment, this is the Grey Cup. The kid will have the whole off season to heal up. Besides, the Als have a good running game. Sincerely, Coach Lefko.
