7 September 1944 Station Bulletin: Inspection of Ablutions. CQ’s in all sites will inspect ablutions each night at midnight to insure that no water taps are left running. The Sergeant of the Guard will make an hourly check of communal site and Lead Crew site ablutions. #turnitoff

3 Jne 44 A/R Ice Cold Katy Tail assembly of a/c hit a tree and caused a/c to crash. Investigating committee points out that there is every indication that the pilot was ‘buzzing’ in the vicinity of the crash, having made several passes at the Debach airfield Conc: Pilot Error

6 June 1944 Caen Coast - 36 a/c dispatch Falaise - 21 a/c dispatch Cp Buckles, “Concussion from the fire of heavy guns below shook the formation around.” Cp Walters, “I saw 200 ships headed for the invasion coast. They were moving 4 abreast like an infantry division on parade.”

7 Sept 1943 Target: Watten, Fr 24 a/c dispatched, 24 a/c returned. No bombing due to cloud cover. Lead a/c left the ground at 0600, other aircraft following at 30 second intervals. Delay in take-off was caused by a hole in perimeter track causing also confusion in take-off order.

22 August 1943 Station Bulletin - Lost One US carbine caliber.30 M-1 rifle bearing the serial no. 1044190. Request any information concerning the whereabouts of this rifle be reported to the Sergeant Majors office at Station HQ. #OnThisDay1943 #390thBG

11 Aug 45 Q Liz sailed up the Hudson River with her decks laden with joyous army, navy and marine personnel. River Boats with brass bands welcomed everyone on board. Tug boats gave frequent blasts on their deep sounding foghorns, telling us in so many words, “Welcome home Yank.”

14 June 1945 The joyous prospect of returning home was saddened by the untimely death of 1st Lt. F. G. knudston when he accidentally fell from a 2nd story window at the Red X in Ipswich. #onthisday1945
