It seems the driving instructor hadn't got to the bit in the manual about cyclists yet. There was a pupil driving. Surely a little prompt - "you've got plenty of time, mirrors, signal, overtake the cyclist with plenty of space", but this driving school seems to be breeding the next generation close passers.

@sven_nys @RondeVlaanderen Waarom evenepoel in dit rijtje. Hoort niet bij de beste ronde renners en niet bij de beste eendag renners. Wint alleen koersen waar de grote namen niet aanwezig zijn.

Het uniek aspect van de @RondeVlaanderen 2026 is dat de vier renners waar het al bijna 10 jaar om draait in de wielersport in super vorm zijn. Elk in hun eigen team en klaar om de strijd aan te gaan op een parcours dat hen alle vier past. Koester dit moment.

@MacMasore @aziiaziizam This is the first time for a number of years that he has been fit and have some form. He just needs to race against the other aliens and learn that he can’t ride every one of his wheel. Sometimes ride aggressively, sometimes ride defensively.

@aziiaziizam Well he knows the place, Roubaix cobbles would be an entirely different thing, Flemish cobbles aren’t that bad.

If Remco is indeed going to race in the Tour of Flanders, it would suggest that Red Bull is VERY unhappy with the lack of major successes from its riders, and the team is starting to make desperate moves just to secure something. Make a decision like that a week before? Crazy.

@BenjiNaesen I think it's brilliant he's doing it. Last few years have been poor winters for him. Just get out and race. Race in different ways. Learn you can't always ride everyone off your wheel. Be defensive at times. Be aggressive at others. Every day is a school day.

I'm very happy to see Remco Evenepoel riding the Ronde van Vlaanderen, but it's quite abysmal to see how Red Bull-BORA's communications team have handled this. Journalists are just doing their jobs, and if they ask the team management if Remco Evenepoel is riding the Ronde van Vlaanderen, and instead of providing a "no comment", you flat-out lie to them, and they base their work on your lies, then you're negatively impacting their reputation. I have no dog in this fight, but that feels unethical. 🤷‍♂️

@ARF_Takes @but_cyclists The driver's out of order. It's a very busy, dangerous road. It's needed a by-pass for years. Advice has always been whilst it's illegal there are cyclists who are frightened about riding on very busy roads so take to the pavement. The driver turned into a Vigilante. Unacceptable
