Nearly 3 million New Yorkers are at risk of losing their SNAP benefits on November 1 — because Congress failed to do its job. Let’s be clear: @lawler4ny already voted for a reckless budget that gutted $300 billion from food assistance — a bill that passed by just one vote. That single decision put meals for millions on the line, including more than 18,000 families right here in NY-17 who rely on SNAP just to get by.  No family should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from because of political games in Washington. I’ve led missions overseas where failure wasn’t an option, and it shouldn’t be one here at home. Feeding families isn’t politics.
