In an effort to diversify the voices of science, we have created a free platform for connecting volunteer English-language editors with those looking for help with the clarity of their scientific writing. peeredits.org

Reviewers sometimes mistakenly ask for 'native English speaker' to help with editing. Reviewers might think this softens the criticism (i.e. its understandable) but this is not how these comments are experienced by authors. Review only the manuscript not the authors. @PeerEdits

@lfinnegal I have heard from a few people who were also struggling to add an editor account. Once logged into PeerEdits, editors need to create a new 'editor' account in the database, which requires a new entry to be created (new login and password). Your PeerEdits info will not work here

Great scientists think in all of these languages but most science is published in English. Let’s help reduce barriers to publishing by non-native English speakers. We need to hear from everyone! #GlobalizeScience

@seismo_steve You may also be thanking folks like me, who copyedit papers like that. But I share your admiration of authors working in a second language. Speaking English natively is a privilege akin to white privilege.
