@xwalkenjoyer @Pepipopa The US did food regulation ok under capitalism until recently. The regulatory state doesn't produce an immediate profit but it's critical to sustainability. The collapse of the western mind's capacity to perceive the future as real is a separate issue.

One of my favorite lies in this country is that "most millionaires are self-made", when the definition of being "self-made" is somebody not literally giving you one million dollars worth of assets. The networking and opportunities afforded to the upper classes are worth far more.
