Let me share some fascinating and lesser-known details about J.P. Morgan's image control and appearance: 1. Photographer Fear Morgan's sensitivity about his appearance was so intense that photographers were genuinely afraid of him. There's a documented incident where a newspaper photographer spotted Morgan leaving his office and tried to take a candid shot. Morgan allegedly spotted him, charged at him with his walking stick raised, and the terrified photographer fled, destroying the plate. 2. The Purple Diamond Incident In an interesting intersection with his nose condition, Morgan owned a famous 100-carat purple diamond. According to accounts from the time, he rarely displayed it because he was concerned it drew attention to the similar purplish hue of his nose. The diamond was kept in his personal collection rather than being worn or publicly displayed. 3. The "Morgan Door" At his library (now the Morgan Library & Museum), Morgan had a special private entrance built with specific lighting designed to cast shadows that would minimize the appearance of his nose when he entered or exited. In 1999, I read a thought-provoking book that offered a compelling vision of the future, which in many ways foresaw developments closely resembling today’s Tesla cars. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_C… While I was reading this I remember thinking this is a little bit scary, but I could see that as population growth continued that this might have some merit but now I see it being completely displayed step-by-step by the WEF as this has been adopted as their master plan! The book notably excelled in its urban design concepts. (15 minute Cites) It proposed transforming rural areas into highly structured, high-density urban environments, aiming to enhance efficiency and integration in city planning and environmental sustainability. This restructuring was not just about urban renewal but also appeared to involve a deeper, more systemic control over the population, hinting at a somewhat authoritarian approach to managing societal growth. while innovative, seemed to echo a more centralized, possibly communist ideology of economic and population control. The approach suggested a significant shift from individual freedom towards a regulated, planned community structure, emphasizing the management of resources and people in a way that prioritized collective over individual needs.
