PPI's stats for Sept North American HDPE pipe production were just released. Demand still trailing y-o-y (-25%). Worst market is Energy.

All of the major North American HDPE pipe producers have announced 4-6 cpp increases. Is demand returning? Is the stimulus finally here?

The rise in ethylene costs provides support to previously announced PE increases. North America is still the cost preferred region globally

Latest ChemData reports sharp increase in ethane costs (feedstock) causing a drastic increase in ethylene costs.

Multiple HDPE pipe producers are announcing price increases of 4 cpp. Perhaps sanity is returning to market??

Townsend's Plastic Market Monthly reports that pipe grade resin increased 2.8 cpp in Sept. Oct forecasted to increase another 1 cpp.
