Ledger Library Exploit Explainer for Average Folks What is going on with the recent alerts not to use dapps? A library that is used by many dapps that is maintained by Ledger was compromised and a wallet drainer was added. What do I do as a normal user? Do not interact with any dapp front ends on websites for now. This is an ongoing situation and it is risky to use dapps currently if you don't understand what backend libraries they use. How does this drain your money? If you visit the website you won't get automatically drained or your funds. However, prompts from your browser wallet (like MM) will display that give your assets to the malicious actors. Does Ledger know about this? Yes they do and are working on it. Note: Even after Ledger corrects the bad code in their library, projects using and deploying that library will need to update things before it is safe to use dapps that use Ledger's web3 libraries. In relation to the KyberSwap Elastic incident that transpired from 22 November 2023, 10:54:09 PM UTC, resulting in the exploitative swaps by the exploiter that drained approximately $48.8 million of users’ funds from KyberSwap Elastic liquidity pools, we reiterate our unwavering commitment and efforts to support law enforcement and cybersecurity on track-down of the exploiter and recovery of users’ funds taken from them. We want to assure our users that we are standing by you during this challenging period and that we understand that until funds are recovered that users would continue to have concerns especially those in hardship due to the loss caused by the exploit. As such and notwithstanding that KyberSwap Elastic is a decentralized and permissionless protocol under which users accept risk of use of KyberSwap Elastic and being liquidity providers, as stated in the Terms of Use, we are planning grants from the KyberSwap Treasury to users to ease the hardship from the loss caused by the exploit. Our present plan is for the KyberSwap Treasury to extend a grant to each user (who lost funds in the exploit and which have not been recovered) of an amount up to the USD value of such funds at the time when such funds were drained from their respective liquidity pools. We are working out the details of the above proposed treasury grant and will announce more details within the next two weeks.

El Salvador's #Bitcoin investments are in the black! After literally thousands of articles and hit pieces that ridiculed our supposed losses, all of which were calculated based on #Bitcoin’s market price at the time... With the current #Bitcoin market price, if we were to sell our #Bitcoin, we would not only recover 100% of our investment but also make a profit of $3 620 277.13 USD (as of this moment). Of course, we have no intention of selling; that has never been our objective. We are fully aware that the price will continue to fluctuate in the future, this doesn’t affect our long-term strategy. Nonetheless, it is important that the naysayers and the authors of those hit pieces take back their statements. The responsible thing to do would be for them to issue retractions, offer apologies, or, at the very least, acknowledge that El Salvador is now yielding a profit, just as they repeatedly reported that we were incurring losses. If they consider themselves true journalists, they should report this new reality with the same intensity they reported the previous one. We’ll see… Stay tuned!
