“TWICE will only sit if ONCEs can sit too” — The Heartwarming Rule Created by Jeongyeon That Changed Fansigns Forever.
In #TWICE’s early days, it was common for fans to kneel or stand during fansigns. Providing chairs wasn’t the norm, and attendees often had to spend the entire event without a place to sit (see first pic).
When Jeongyeon noticed this, she didn’t think it was fair. So she made a decision that would become part of TWICE’s identity:
“If ONCEs can’t sit, then TWICE won’t sit either.”
From that moment on, TWICE stood for the entire fansign alongside the crowd — and a tradition rooted in empathy and equality was born.
Thanks to this, fansigns now provide chairs for attendees as a standard, and Jeongyeon’s rule is still followed to this day.
This story became so meaningful that it even appeared in manga panels and fan comics, celebrated as a symbol of mutual respect between idols and their audience.
Because being an idol isn’t just about performing —
It’s about standing with the people who stood by you first.
