Released some new changes on ChapterbyChapter.app bible tracker today. Now working better on mobile (particularly Android) and can be saved to homescreen or dock on your phone/computer as an app.

Strange - since switching over to Pika (new blog tool) my Google Analytics isn't showing any traffic despite me adding it to the site. Normally, it would pick up even just me in real-time stats. I feel like I'm missing something obvious...

It's my birthday today, so I gave myself a day of geekery. Completely overhauled my personal website - now using Pika as the blogging platform - even refreshed my X profile a little.

Kind of overwhelmed by the number of people using this little experimental Bible reading tool. Still lots to do on it but tweaking it more and more.

This is awesome! Any plans to make it open source so others can contribute? My quick critiques for what it’s worth: - Translation selection - Jump back into the parent node chapter (in the event wanted to review before moving on) - Hide the header and footer upon scrolling so the text is the only thing on the screen.

beta version of 'Bible Adventure' (working title) is up - bible-adventure.pages.dev Very experimental and you can't view across devices yet. But have a play.

@problogger I’m really curious how you first got in front of people or started getting users? Any advice? If you don’t mind sharing this info, of course. I started building a similarly related tool & I want to make sure it’s seen by those who would want to use it

@jcurtis @GTMPugh thanks - Claude and I had a chat about it. We figured at the amount of users we currently have that we'll keep the current setup but your option would be good if we go beyond the Supabase free tier. Appreciate the tips.

@GTMPugh It’s saved locally in your browser atm. Depending how I go I might make the option of setting up accounts which would mean you can use it on more than one device and store data. This is what I did with chapterbychapter.app - although it’s more complex and costs me to host

@jcurtis @GTMPugh I won’t pretend to understand most of that as a non tech Claude Code ‘coder’ but I will take it to my AI ‘friend’ and see what it says 😂

@GTMPugh @problogger Hey just a thought. Great use case for cloudflare durable objects. 1 per person. Basically free for a while, isolated, queryable (as opposed to just r2 object) , scales to zero as far as I know so long lived inactive users don’t slow everything down or get expensive.

I asked Claude to calculate how many possible paths there are to read the bible using the bible adventure app. Here's what it said (now on my About page):

Last Bible Adventure update (for now), I've just set up the ability for you to sign up for an account, which will let you save your progress on more than one device and browser. If you already have a ChapterbyChapter account, you can sign in with that one.

PS: I'm no mathematician - if you are I'd love for you to verify this!
