I'm honestly very fkn upset! Israel's Defense Minister just blatantly said they will occupy 10% of Lebanon even AFTER the war, and over 600k people that have their homes there cannot return! And also today, Netanyahu is saying that after the Iran war, the Strait of Hormuz needs to be bypassed using pipelines from Saudi to the Mediterranean I'm trying to be objective on everything, but after the destruction of Gaza, recent unwarranted bombing of Syria a few days ago, and now this, I am struggling to remain objective! Israel needs to reconsider its foreign policy or the cycle of violence won't stop! You cannot occupy Lebanon and expect the Government to disarm the militia that was founded BECAUSE of Israeli occupation decades ago! You cannot bomb Syria non stop and expect the people and the Government to sit idly and normalize relations You cannot wipe out Gaza and keep occupying it, then pass a law where the death penalty applies to Palestinians and not Israelis, and expect Palestinians to not be radicalized and fight back You cannot expect to bomb Iran, then propose a pipeline that benefits you, and expect the Arab world to become allies I want Hezbollah gone. I want the Iranian regime gone. I want Palestinian radicalization gone. But this is NOT the way to do it! This is NOT the way to achieve peace in the region!

My worst nightmare for Lebanon is coming true, and I am beginning to seriously question my assumption that Israel does not want to annex Lebanese territory The Defense Minister's statement today that Israel will occupy a part of Southern Lebanon after the war is inexcusable How can they expect to get rid of Hezbollah, which was founded because of Israel's occupation of Lebanon, if their goal is to occupy Lebanon again?!

I know everyone thinks there’s going to be this growing AI backlash, but I’m skeptical. I think most people love AI. AI has been a consumer led with businesses constantly trying to play catch up and doing it kind of clumsily. According to the recently released Wharton study, bigger companies struggle to show ROI on AI investment. When AI starts actually automating people’s jobs, maybe *then* there will be a backlash. But most people I know who are using AI love it and it mostly allows them to get their jobs done better and faster (employees, not employers are gobbling up all the ROI). That’s what the industry data shows as well. According to Law360, the more lawyers use AI the more they love it. The ones who don’t like it are the ones who don’t use it and the data also suggests that adoption is still increasing so the group of nonusers is shrinking. Lawyer adoption jumped 24 percentage points according to that Wharton study I mentioned before. I’m sure there are politicians who are going to try and make an issue out of AI but I think they’re confusing automation and labor replacement (I lost my job honey) with GenAI Assistants (I actually helped my kid with his homework)

@nikitabier Literally the only feature X needs is figuring out how to promote interesting voices and lower the volume on the crazies. Both sides of every topic. It’s exhausting

6. How Legora Triumphed Over Harvey: David vs Goliath Harvey had mindshare, capital, and Sequoia-backed momentum. Legora shipped fast from Sweden, broke a monopoly narrative, and won Benchmark & Bessemer. If there are two kingmakers in legal AI, there is no single king. Love to hear your thoughts on what makes Legora special @slpierre @jcfurstenberg

Correct. My take is V1 thesis was “young people don’t care about the news, we’ll report on other tangential stories” I’d add Vice to your mix. It was fun, but ultimately empty calories. V2 is real news analysis but with strong takes and opinions, in long form and with biases as a feature not a bug.

Are we going to pretend $750/hour law firms are going to be business as usual in the AI age? I just used Grok Deep Research to draft a simple contract. Took 15 minutes. Would have cost $2,000 with a lawyer. When I sent it to my attorney to review, his response was "looks good" 2 days later. I had already sent the contract lol. It was signed by the client. Thanks Mr. Attorney. Lawyers and accountants keep insisting that AI is just a toy and real work requires human judgment. Meanwhile, their billable hours model is silently imploding. I've watched this pattern play out before. First comes denial. Then "it only works for simple stuff." Then "it can't handle nuance." Finally, massive restructuring. Law firms won't disappear, but the pyramid of junior associates doing document review and contract drafting is evaporating overnight. What nobody's talking about is how the next generation will learn when the entry-level jobs that have always been the training ground are precisely what AI does best. I wouldn't be surprised if the biggest shock to law firms comes when their own clients start bringing AI-drafted documents to meetings and just asking for quick reviews. The real change won't be dramatic - it'll be the slow realization that clients are paying for 1 hour of work instead of 10, while still getting the same outcome. It'll be death by a thousand cuts as more routine legal work gets handled by in-house teams with AI assistance. We're watching the complete reinvention of professional services happen in real-time, and pretending nothing will change.
