We are #R4Proud to recognize Evelyn Martinez, an education specialist with the Region 4 Literacy and Language Team as our District Advancement Champion of the month! Evelyn’s focus is supporting students, parents, teachers, and school- and district-level officials in multilingual education, compliance, and more. With a background in multilingual education, including in the classroom, Evelyn was drawn to Region 4 by its broader impact on students’ learning experiences. In addition to her work with the multilingual team, Evelyn has launched the inaugural Regional Spanish Spelling Bee Competition, which will be held February 5, 2025. The top two finalists will go on to the State Spanish Spelling Bee in El Paso. The competition is open to students in Grades 4–8. For more information, email R4MLsupport@esc4.net.
