@teacher2teacher Very careful questions. More student to student conversations about the math. Asking my students to explain their thinking to each other. The use of visual models. No one thing works for all.

Really loving this. Looking to possibly tweak this a bit to help my Ss talk math. Thinking one copy of the whole sheet in their math NB. Then specific blocks for certain assignments for class work and homework to build the skill of math talk.

@pwharris The white is your algorithm. However you are learning so much more by using the ratio tables as a strategy. Love how the strategy builds so much multiplication and division fluency. BTW the 3 day Math Challenge was amazing.

@AHoustonMath @pwharris 9/4.5=2 so then 22.5/2 would be 11.25

@AHoustonMath I automatically notice that 4.5 is half of 9 so 11.25 is half of 22.50. X=11.25

@AHoustonMath I agree that Math is about finding relationships. Algebra specifically, is about pattern recognition. However, there HAS to be applicable logic to that pattern recognition approach. Shortcuts work on simple problems, but for the relevant stuff, you need logic building using rules
