Pegula after Rybakina QF Loss in Press at @MiamiOpen on if the match slipped away from her in that game in the second set
“That game (2-2 in the 2nd set with 3 break points) where she made a couple bad errors, to me like I have to win that game against someone like her. I can’t let her get away with that many mistakes. At the same time I feel like I played pretty well all match. I saw a stat that I won more points. That’s what sucks about tennis, that sometimes you can win more points and still lose the match. I was right there. felt like I played really solid. She hit some really good shots, on break points and especially in the 3rd. It definitely would’ve been nice to obviously get the break at that moment. Maybe it would’ve been different. You really don’t know, but it was definitely a pivotal point in the match.”

"LeBron's clutch looks different, it comes in many forms... Kobe's clutch was Kobe taking the shot... Kobe took a lot of bad shots, he was selfish."
@colincowherd weighs in on the Kobe vs. LeBron clutchness debate
English

@Fightful meanwhile, she was completely unwatchable on WWE for years. i feel bad that AEW didnt come to the realization that she doesnt belong anywhere near a wrestling ring
English

Ronda Rousey talks about appearing at AEW Revolution.
“I’m thinking a less restrictive, more adult version of WWE, which sounds like a good time. It’s kind of a cool little bit of a ‘F*ck You’ to the TKO group because WWE is on Netflix, but I figured it would be easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. I’m promoting a show, it’s fine. We didn’t advertise it. It’s not like we boosted the ratings. It should be fine."

@goatrenka lets be honest, it sucks that the WTA didnt ensure that Rybakina and Sabalenka werent on separate halves of the draw!
Rybakina having to play Pegs again shouldnt have been the case either
English

@TennisUpdates26 if Landaluce won that tiebreak, it sure would have been interesting to see how Lehecka handled it! He was the better player by a significant margin in that set, so it would have been a tough pill to swallow had he lost it
English

@ApplePasta real curious to see if this continues on the dirt. Elena's never been horrible on the dirt, but she's never been a top 2 or 3 player on it
if she continues to get 46%+ unreturned first serves, it could tho!
English

Again Aryna and Elena have separated themselves from the pack, especially on hard courts
til polarity's end 🎾⚡#SpallettiEra⚡⚫⚪@lildarkcage
Elena Rybakina has only lost two (!) matches against a top-10 player starting from October last year, both to the world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka. She's won the other 13.🤯
English

@TheTennisLetter anyone wagering against Sabalenka being the 4th? lol
English

@ApplePasta @TennisUpdates26 lets be honest, she should have won that match, but thats what happens when u fail to take advantage of your opportunities.
the moment where she had 3 break chances to take a break lead in the 2nd set, n inevitably getting broken immediately after, basically sealed her fate
English

@RMarsonet @TennisUpdates26 Yeah Tennis Twitter is using that quote from Jess a lot today, lol
English

@ApplePasta @TennisUpdates26 hahaa, yes i believe that was the case.
Pegs also said something similar when she beat Bencic for the first time - she had never won a set in the 4 matches that they had played, and she beat her in straights hahaha
English

@RMarsonet @TennisUpdates26 Elena is a different player now. Wasn't it Vitas Gerulatis who said after breaking a fourteen straight losing streak against Bjorn Borg: 'No one beats Vitas Gerulatis fifteen times in a row.'
English

@TheTennisLetter those 32 wins are against some incredibly high level competition as well - 13 top 10 wins in that stretch!
English

Rybakina d. Pegula 2-6 6-3 6-4
Elena reaches her 13th WTA 1000 semifinal.
She’s now won her last 5 matches against Pegula.
She’s also won 32 of her last 36 matches… an unbelievable stat.
Not her best tennis today, but that tells you just how hard it is to beat this woman on any given day.
✅3rd Miami SF
✅Back-to-back WTA 1000 SF
✅37th top 10 win
Rock solid under pressure.
One of the biggest fighters on tour.
Unshakeable.

English

@TickTockTennis she's now won 13 of her past 14 matches against Top 10 players!! Her lone loss was in a match that she could have easily won at Indian Wells. Interestingly enough, odds are substantial that she could get that revenge in the Semi's!
English

Rybakina Rebound
Jessica Pegula came out hot, but Elena Rybakina finds her way into the match... then into a winning position in Miami.
The current world #2 recovers to win 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, to book her spot in the semifinals where she'll face Hailey Baptiste or... Aryna Sabalenka

@TennisUpdates26 INCREDIBLE!!
Pegs won more games, more points, and won a higher percentage of both serve and return points, and yet still lost!
English

@edgeAIapp INCREDIBLE.
Pegs won more games, more points, and had won a higher percentage of both serve and return points, and yet still lost!
