peermusic mourns the passing of our friend and colleague John Eastman whose contributions will be missed.

Ninety-five years ago (July-August 1927), record scout Ralph Peer (pictured at his desk) recorded nineteen acts in two weeks. He struck gold twice, discovering Jimmie Rodgers (with guitar) and the Carter Family, in the now-famous Bristol Sessions.
