Do we want to be biblically accurate out of reverence for the Lord Jesus Christ? Did the new covenant replace the old covenant? Yes. Did the new covenant ekklesia of God (εκκλησια Θεου) replace the old covenant ekklesia of God (εκκλησια Θεου)? Yes. Can you identify some distinctions? Have Christians replaced Israel as the recipients of the promises to Abraham and his seed? No. Both the spiritual descendants of Abraham, counted righteous by faith, as well as the natural descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, receive promises at the A) appearing, and, B) return, of Christ. So, on one hand, Christians (Jew & gentile) have replaced Israel as the ekklesia of God (εκκλησια Θεου) until the end of the age. On the other hand, the kingdom will be restored to Israel at the coming of Christ.
