Could be worse....The United States has a higher overall poverty rate than Canada. Recent data shows the U.S. poverty rate at roughly 18%, while Canada’s rate (based on the Market Basket Measure) has been estimated between 7% and 11% in recent years. Canada’s social policies and tax benefits also lead to better outcomes for lower-income families
