Great news for Washington's Ninth District. Today, the House of Representatives passed a package that will deliver $6,316,000 in community project funds back to our community in WA-09. These Community Project Funding investments reflect what our communities are asking for — cleaner water, safer neighborhoods, and more opportunities for young people to succeed. I will continue fighting to ensure federal resources are directed where they can make the greatest local impact.

Constituents from across the 9th District have been sharing how high gas prices have become since Trump began his war of choice with Iran. One resident in Bellevue said the price per gallon increased by 70 cents in one day after the war began. Trump's decisions are raising costs.

A gallon of gas cost an average of $4.98 in King County last week, while the price of filling up your tank is $5.39 today. Washingtonians cannot afford to pay almost $5 per gallon just so Donald Trump can continue a war of peace. The conflict with Iran will have a months-long domino effect in our economy. I’ve long supported crisis care centers in Washington and am proud to see a third mental health crisis center begin operating in South King County. Building a strong behavioral health system with a wide safety net helps ensure Washingtonians can access care from qualified specialists when they need it most. I’ve introduced legislation to expand access to one-stop crisis stabilization centers that provide health services and additional support under one roof—just like this facility.
