Pedri is one of the most progressive passers in Europe. I don't think it's even debatable. Earlier this month, this guy made 26 passes into the final third in one game against Atletico Madrid. That's madness level. Not everything we should be debating online.

When I talk about Barco, some people think I mean he should come in and start every game. Far from it, he will need to adapt like Santos. But for me, I think he's in the mold of Vitinha and Pedri in terms of running games, progressive passing and accuracy. But the progressive passing and its accuracy is what I'm more interested in. I don't think we have a midfielder who naturally does it regularly. Like I said two nights ago, you can't say we don't need such profile, especially against low blocks. We play too many safe and recycling passes in midfield, Barco doesn’t do that. His vision, execution and accuracy are really top level. If he plays as backup to Enzo, I don't see what we have to lose. Does Enzo even have a backup at the moment? I don't understand the overration. He will make a solid backup. He's also intense, win duels and covers a lot of the pitch. Even though he's not physically there, he makes up for it in tenacity, aggression and intensity. I don't expect the Premier League to swallow him.

Every coach is different and gives you different benefits. Maresca is a really intelligent coach that has a great understanding of strengths/weaknesses of his team & players. More methodical & calculated, so knows how to gain fine margins as a results. This has shown itself in key big games (CWC/Barca etc) + key moments (run-in). Better in the short-term for sure and masked the deficiencies of this team better. Rosenior isn’t able to mask our weaknesses as well, and all our frailties our on show; But I think he fits this squad better long-term and I’ve seen signs of fluid/liquid football that will maximise this squad in ways, I was unsure with Maresca (more focus on double-pivot + fluid rotations + central progression). Rosenior just needs the final pieces for us to very clearly to go to that next level as an elite team. But it’s more painful for now as those gaping holes & his current naivety, make us a vulnerable team that will continue to be punished ruthlessly at times. That pain is amplified because every game means so much right now being in a CL-race + key cup competitions.
