Etcheverry is one of the most reliable clay players on tour, his game is built for long rallies and he does not beat himself. He is facing Borges who struggles with consistency from the baseline. Fonseca is just on a heater right now, confidence is high and we already saw him beat Rinderknech recently on clay. His forehand is doing damage and he looks very comfortable on this surface. I trust both to get it done here - Ben Shelton ML I like Shelton a lot in this spot. People still think of him as just a hard court player but his game is translating better to clay than expected. Big serve gives him free points and his forehand can dictate even on slower courts. Blockx does not have the same firepower and if Shelton stays composed in rallies he should control this match. I think his upside is just higher here - Cobolli / Bergs Over 21.5 Games This feels like a grind type match. Both guys like to stay in rallies and neither one is a quick out on clay. Cobolli has been solid but not dominant, and Bergs is the type to hang around and push sets deep. I see at least one tight set and a good chance this goes three. Over makes a lot of sense with how these two match up - Darderi ML / Shelton +1.5 Sets Darderi is another guy who thrives on clay. Heavy groundstrokes, good movement, and he is comfortable building points. He is facing someone who is not as natural on this surface and that should show over time. Pairing that with Shelton +1.5 sets gives us solid coverage. Even if Shelton does not dominate, I do not see him getting blown out.
