In a separate study using experiments & continuum model, we show that cell stiffness dependent height variations are important for generating the pulsations in monolayers & in setting their lengthscales (doi.org/10.1140/epje/s…). 7/7

We used a vertex model to understand the transition to pulsations & flows. We found that a dominating velocity-polarity alignment led to flows but when the velocity-polarity alignment matched the rotational diffusion, pulsations emerged. 6/7
