@LogicSurface I agree friend, it’s been a good chat. I enjoy having civil convos on here, and you have a lot of great points. One day we will have our California back.

@SN_Bogey of the states government and voters, for example, the weather is great, the natural beauty is rarely matched, but all those things would be true despite the Californian government. I hope the state can turn itself around in this lifetime.

@SN_Bogey Believe me I know not every Californian is like I mentioned, and obviously im against all the supression, but at the end of the day if you have cities as large as Los Angeles and San Francisco and they're all packed with people who vote a certain way, that is how the state will-

That’s a great point but I will tell you first hand living here my whole life, the way the voting boundaries are set is to completely suppress any other person than their agenda wants voting. This includes farmers who get their water cut off or dumped all the time, blue collar workers, and where a lot of the food comes from, both for the country and world. I know they say “land can’t vote” but just because the populace is thinner than the major cities doesn’t mean the counties should get shut out. You can look at recent rezoning, it makes it so no matter what the counties are always blue. I promise there’s a lot more good people that are similar minded to a lot of others across the country living here than you might believe. I meet more people you can crack edgy jokes with, talk about the shitty state of what’s going on right now, a lot of right wing people even if they’re not Republican, but even then a lot of hardcore republicans too. Everyone’s view on CA people is exactly from the media who focuses on Hollywood and SF, etc. the blue collar workers and farmers, etc, all live in the shadows, but provide the most for the economy.

@SN_Bogey I would also absolutely blame the government, the main reason I blamed the government is because the people of California happily vote for the things that cause the issues with their state. This can be seen with Californians moving to other states and bringing the laws with them.

Was blessed enough to spend a lottt of my time up in northern CA over quite a few years welding at a lot of different wineries. Truly a beautiful place, you ever find yourself down in the central sierras looking for cool hikes or spots to visit, cool little mountain towns and good restaurants, hmu I’ll tell you the spots! 🍻

@RyanCar15826463 Correct, but there are a plethora of other parts including surrounding areas of the mountains or hills that offer just as much beauty. Theres homes a lot closer to Yosemite and others than you might think.

That’s awesome! Sounds like a hell of a career path 🍻 I myself started welding at 19 and quickly got into the sanitary welding/stainless pipe/food grade industry. I’ve been lucky enough to travel across this beautiful state welding at wineries, mainly Gallo’s wineries and other high end facilities. I did that for quite a few years and decided now is the time for me to branch out and start my own business, I actually just received the email to confirm my state contractors license test 🙏🏻 I would love to be doing the sanitary work for my own business as well, such a blast.

@SN_Bogey I see in your profile"welder". I am a "congenital shipbuilder". Introduced to shipbuilding where my dad worked by visits for launchings; overwhelmed & inspired. Chose a career (Naval Architect); shipyard training included 2 weeks in welding shop. Mostly built offshore oil rigs.

Not sure if that was supposed to be for me or just a general statement but I’ve lived here my whole life and strongly advocate for people to move here and enjoy the beauty and also help push back against the BS agenda that’s been going on for too long. The solution isn’t leaving, it’s populating with likeminded people.

The solution to the California problem is not to blindly hate it and everyone there. The solution is good people moving here/staying here and fighting to change this state and make it affordable again, get rid of the stupid laws and politicians. It’s already full of incredible beauty and rich Wild West culture. Everyone who leaves is running away and leaving the rest of us out to dry.

Thanks for that John, I really enjoyed the read 👍🏼 I find a lot of that interesting too, and funny enough the dust bowl, and previous migration has caused there to be a certain “redneck” twang accent in rural California areas down as low as Bakersfield, through the Central Valley, and up to the north. Some people find it confusing when they hear me talk when I’m somewhere else and ask where I’m from. I also agree, with a good economy there comes a price to pay, though we are disproportionately out-priced and out-governed right now, I do believe Californias golden days are soon upon us, our own “green pastures” per your words, once again.

@SN_Bogey ...fit in & "sought greener pastures". Some want to change California to fit images of other American venues. Most of the returns are Midwestern & Southern, but Texas has become popular. The REALITY: Californians, taken all together, are different ...& they will stay that way.

Now look at the rezoning they just did for voting to further suppress others than their own agenda. You can do the math and also see how elections would go if the zones were proper, it’s essentially 2 cesspools cities, vs the people who actually do everything living in the rural areas. Fresno county is the #1 food producing county in the United States. Provides like 90% of the worlds almonds and similar numbers in fruits and nuts, and produces 1/3rd of the United States food supply. I think the people actually doing the work and providing for the economy don’t deserve to be suppressed the way they do, ask farmers how their water gets wasted every year or cut off from up the river. The green zones don’t mean nobody lives there.

@mwstateofmind Absolutely! I agree with you, a lot of us here can not stand our leadership, they also change voting zones to completely drown out the people who voted against their manic leftist policies. We will have our CA again 🌲

I’ve always wondered the same, why is it that people hate the government, the fed gov and their local, but whenever California is brought up in the conversation, it’s always Californians fault and not the politicians all of a sudden? It makes no sense to me. It’s like saying Texas sucks because Austin and Dallas ruin it.

@SN_Bogey I agree so much. The misconceptions of our state really hurt it, people write us off instead of seeing the bigger picture where most are just like any other random us citizen. It’s the only place (I think?) in the US where the people are hated vs politicians and policies.

Bakersfield, Fresno, Clovis, Redding, and many more within the central/norcal area. Non-coincidentally those are also the counties that produce the most food in the US, contribute to a mass portion of the worlds food, are very country and down to earth. It’s not as far gone as people think, just bad rn.
