@TizzyEnt Amen! Not to mention that there are many points in the Yost paradigm in which the options are not 'binary', i.e., there are more than two sexes and genders for many reasons.

Dr. Graham was such a kind and wonderful soul, and always made time to chat with me when we passed in the halls at @SUNY. More importantly, he was a fierce champion for our students and supported any effort that could better their lives and well-being. (1/)

@ASBMB #ASBMBposters A4: Judges are expected to be mentors and role models. They should use their scientific and teaching/mentoring/pedagogical expertise to assess the student and provide constructive feedback. The UGPC is a learning and growth opportunity for the students.

@ASBMB #ASBMBposters A3: A well-designed poster that is presented clearly by a student who fully understands the material and can answer questions well. So that they know what the judges are looking for, presenters should study the judging rubric.

@ASBMB A1: Remember, since the even-numbered and odd-numbered posters each use only half of the scheduled time, you'll be presenting only half the time. Use your non-presentation time to work the room! #ASBMBposters

@ASBMB A1: For those people who are participating, use the time you're not scheduled to be presenting to work the room. Visit the other posters and grad school tables. Meet as many people as possible! Bring business cards.

A4: "DON'T" overload your poster. If it's too dense no one will read it. A cluttered poster, no matter how valuable the information, is not likely to draw people in. #ASBMBposters

A4: "DO" It's key that you take the opportunity to present your work very seriously. Prepare for it as much as you would an oral. You should be able to speak at depth about everything on your poster. #ASBMBposters

A3: Be careful to avoid jargon or overly dense text. #ASBMBposters

A3: I suggest that you use your poster to start the conversation. Perhaps use a graphic to represent the main ideas. Your poster should serve as a guide and prompt your presentation. The information you include to be like the lead/topic sentences of a paragraph. #ASBMBposters
