Patients with ESKD access hospice care only about half as often as patients in the general Medicare population. This study introduces a Concurrent Hospice and Dialysis Program that improves hospice access by offering palliative dialysis with hospice care bit.ly/j2022010064

COVID restrictions should not be viewed as only beneficial. In this study, nursing home residents without personal contact with family/friends had a 35% greater excess mortality early in the COVID-19 pandemic relative to residents who had personal contact. jamda.com/article/S1525-…

Systematic review of 41 studies (5102 patients) showed many patients who don't pursue maintenance dialysis survived several years with sustained quality of life. Consistent approaches to the study of outcomes are needed to enhance generalizability. ja.ma/3q3HABm
