@newscomauHQ They start out by saying people cant afford healthy food like fresh fruit/veg/meat. How are fresh food dearer than frozen or canned, why would adding $35 to a shopping bill ease financial pressure. How are mega profits not seen as the issue.

@natalie_d22 This is such a good point. I live in the USA and when covid was bad they literally drove slowly around the multicultural suburbs with a loudspeaker giving updates in all types of languages to make sure that those communities were aware of restrictions

@marilynbarnewal @LindaMelisande I’m saying that it was hard to afford a house then (as your point illustrates) and it’s even harder now as asset prices have grown much faster than incomes. But the struggles of one generation don’t invalidate those of another.

Nobody brings up the five jobs, no holidays for 13 years, no eating out etc, etc, that enabled us & a lot of other "lucky" older Australians to own homes. Gentrification added value over the next 40 plus years. I'm getting very tired of the guilting of the over 60s for hard work.
