It is not the details that are missing, but the details that are there that make Halo redesign awful!
- The extremely small dots of light you see in the original make you understand how large this ring is. (300 kms+ in width btw)
- The new design makes it look like a bracelet.

Kinda scared to admit this, but today I dropped Bioshock.
The world and aesthetic are stunning, the voice acting is strong, and I’m interested in the story, but the gameplay just isn’t fun to me.
That, and there are like five different sounds playing at the same time at all times. It’s very overstimulating, and I find it hard to focus 🥲
I’m not sure if I had higher expectations because of how much universal praise the game gets, or if it’s genuinely just not for me.
Anyway, I started Dark Souls 1 and I love it!!! Definitely an adjustment after playing Elden Ring and Lies of P but I'm having a lot of fun!

@RVKennedie Interesting psychoanalysis big dog, but character expression via mechanics is pretty fundamental game design. It's like not believing in cinematography or something.

Whenever somebody uses the word “expression” to describe a game mechanic my brain shuts off and automatically filters out everything that comes after. 90% of the time it’s just someone crying about how the game doesn’t control like how they want it to.

@SeriousShanks Personally for me, both games are masterpieces and I'm glad Remake got me interested in the series.
I'm super hype for Resonance, XIV Evercold, and VII Revelation in the coming months, and also am hoping for exciting XI 25th news and a XIII trilogy collection.

I respect Maximillian, but these Remakes are also the highest-budgeted and most marketed JRPGs in history, and yet they have completely failed to expand the Final Fantasy fanbase, which is, in fact, shrinking, as the majority don't hate these.
They simply don't care for them.

@HexenVexen Clearly, these Remakes Are not as great as Max hypes them up to be.
That's what my point was.
Not hating the game, but existing JRPG/RPG/other players seeing what these games are and then not even bothering with them because they are uninterested in what they see and hear.

@SendoDX FF7 Remake sold 3.5 mil in THREE DAYS, not day one, on PS4 with an install base of over 110 million in 2020.
FF 15 sold 5 mil, on DAY ONE, in Nov 2016 when the total install base of PS4+Xbone was less than 75 million.
TLDR, you don't understand metrics!

@SeriousShanks FF14 is a once in a lifetime situation for the series (+ it’s an mmo) and FF15 was multiplatform at release.
Rebirth release on PS5 only at launch and Remake sold 3.5 million on PS4 day one which is as only outpaced by FF15 if you combine the PS4 + XBOX sales.
