Recreating the Cerne Cistern for Time Team - based on the surviving building located at the neighbouring Sherborne, a combination of 3D digital scanning, 3d modelling and photogrammetry is used to rebuild the lost Cerne Abbey Cistern.

A big adventure in old historical places, from the Abbey at Sherborne to the top of a ‘wizards tower’ at Cerne Abbas. All part of a mission to re-build the ‘lost abbey’ for the archaeology show Time Team. A big challenge for us at Shadow Tor Studios, involving photogrammetry, texture captures, reference scans and peeking into places very few get to see. For Time Team Norton Disney (part 3) we had the pleasure to produce the digital reconstruction of how the site might have looked. For this program, and a first for Shadow Tor, the challenge was to travel from an internal room of the Disney Manor (complete with greenscreened reenactors) transition to an outside landscape and Manor reveal, then back inside as we flew into the Norton Disney church to view the Disney ancestral tombs. #timeteam #3d #reconstruction #digitalarchaeology

The existing conserved section of the Bromeswell Bucket - recently in the news after the reveal of the missing section, discovered during the Time Team and National Trust dig at Sutton Hoo. Reconstructing the full bucket will take some time to reunite the freshly found pieces with the previous on display…. Proud to say Shadow Tor has made it all the way to Sutton Hoo with the Time Team TV show. We specialise in digital historical reconstructions and 3D artefacts, working from our studio in West Looe for over 20 years. My adventure with Time Team started back in 2008 when the crew arrived in Looe to excavate the Lammana Chapel and island.
