I always find it amusing when the topic of emigration comes up in Ireland, especially in relation to our EU membership. People talk about “needing to emigrate to Oz” etc. because most have zero interest in living on the continent and overwhelmingly choose the Anglosphere.

The Liberal has learned that a taxi driver in Galway was crashed into by a Ukrainian driver. The Ukrainian had no insurance on his car. Gardai showed the taxi driver documents to bring the Ukrainian to court, who’ll likely skip court and possibly the country. Nothing will be done. Either way, the taxi man will likely have to pay to get the damage fixed himself, or claim from his own insurance losing his no claims bonus. Or the long-routed MIBI. Walking back to our Hotel last night there was something a bit apocalyptic about New York. Much & all as I REALLY enjoyed my time here the streets were feeling a bit unsafe at times. We didn’t feel we could wait outside the pizza place with kids, we had to keep moving. Sad really
