You know where I stand on protecting children. I've sat with young people who were groomed and failed by the institutions meant to keep them safe, and a lot of it started on a phone. So when 90% of parents back a ban, I understand why. Children DO need protecting. But here's my worry. To keep under-16s off, every adult has to prove their age too: real ID linked to your accounts. That's the quiet end of anonymous accounts in Britain. And anonymity isn't just for trolls; it's the survivor, the whistleblower, the abuse victim not ready to be seen. I've worked with all of them. In a country already arresting people over lawful posts, once the state holds the ID behind every account, where does it stop?
