Which of these @Trijicon SROs do you think accumulates schmutz faster while shooting? The one practically overlapping the ejection port or the one set back from it?

I'm hosting Ben Stoeger at South River Gun Club in Covington, GA in October. One of the great things about training with Ben is that you'll see a world-class demo of every concept, drill, or stage in the class. He'll also explain everything he's doing, why, and the critical areas to focus your attention for different kinds of shooting. Ben is also very good at assessing a person's shooting and giving them two or three areas to concentrate on in training to see the maximum overall improvement in the months after the class. Sign-up links through PractiScore are at the bottom of my training page: yank.to/shooting/train… #competitionshooting #practicalshootingtraininggroup

Quick video from lunchtime dry fire showing my draw from an open-top holster. I’m not thinking to get my hand to the gun at the beep—that’s too vague, but to get my middle finger hooked high and tight under the trigger guard to lift the gun out of the holster. My firing hand shouldn’t pause at any point on the draw. I’m careful to keep my elbow tucked in, as flaring it would will torque the gun and prevent it from lifting out of the holster smoothly. My control hand starts moving across my body at the beep and gets ready to wrap around my firing hand as clamp down hard as I lift it to the target and start prepping the trigger. #zevtech #competitionshooting #practicalshootingtraininggroup

More drilling on switching between extremes of fast and tight shots to develop throttle control. Shooting multiple nasty partials in a row test discipline. Here, just because you made the first three shots doesn’t mean the fourth is going to happen. You need to earn each alpha on those tight partials— they are four independent shots. #glock #glock34 #competitionshooting #practicalshootingtraininggroup #benstoegerproshop #blackbulletsinternational #kuhl #huntershdgold

Making the first shot on a tight target isn’t a nagging problem for me, but maintaining visual focus on the spot on the target where I want the bullets to hit as the gun recoils, then making any adjustments after it returns, is a continual struggle for me. I set up this drill in order to push those skills hard. The drill here has a close target and a far partial. At the buzz, draw and shoot two at the close target while stepping across the stick, then shoot two at the far target, step back across the stick while shooting the close target twice, then finish with two more on the far target. Set challenging but doable draw and split part time on the close target to add a sense of urgency when shooting it. Then try to disregard that urgency while shooting the partial. #glock #glock34 #competitionshooting #practicalshootingtraininggroup #benstoegerproshop #blackbulletsinternational #kuhl #huntershdgold

On difficult shots, I like to get the gun right on the edge of firing by prepping the trigger to within a few ounces of breaking before making final sight confirmation and releasing the shot. This mitigates the impact of shifting the tension in other fingers, which might push the gun off target before the bullet leaves the barrel. #glock #glock17 #trijiconsro #zevtech #competitionshooting #practicalshootingtraininggroup #benstoegerproshop #blackbulletsinternational #kuhl #huntershdgold
