@neeratanden Most Dems dont know who Piker is, correct. So why are Dems more concerned with smearing him instead of putting up actual opposition to a war that no one, especially Dem voters, want?

I missed how every Dem leader went on Hasan Piker's show to make this happen. Just like there are very few Dems on Joe Rogan and Trump is still dropping with young people. The truth is no podcaster controls whole blocks of voters. This debate has become divorced from reality.

@kenklippenstein If Trump's budget is an xray, then Dems are a void. What do the Dems offer? What would they fund? Would they restore giving more of our money to insurers? Would they continue funding Israel? Dems will not beat GOP until they can offer a compelling vision for the country

Leftists had one clear demand of Democrats in 2024: stop the genocide and end US funding to Israel. Democrats ignored us and lost. Centrists response is now to marginalize and blame us for making that demand and yell at podcasters. This is their winning formula for 2028.

@samstein They want to attack the base for wanting things the DNC doesnt approve of, but that would be too direct. So they attack Piker, a person who shares many of the beliefs of the base, but is mostly unknown. They want you to think "opposing zionism makes you a bigot like Piker!"

@umichvoter Hasan's point was that if Newsom was the 2028 candidate, he would likely vote third party because at that point his vote wouldnt really matter. Newsom would be a weak, no belief, corporate dem who would struggle to get votes like with Harris.

It is so obvious what Dems should run on. Vote Republican if you want endless war. Vote Democrat if you want daycare. But to do that, Dems must commit to slashing the defense budget. Unfortunately, half the current Dem party won't do it. That's why we need to change the party.
